Join us on 8 January from 18:30 to 19:30 on Zoom for a meeting of My Body, My Book Club as we discuss My Dear Kabul (Coronet, 2024) by Untold Narratives CIC.
My Body, My Book Club aims to connect people through literature, reading books that deal with different aspects of how we understand bodily autonomy and exemplify how we can get involved and support each other.
We will be joining the book club to discuss My Dear Kabul, a collective diary from an Afghan women’s writing group living through the fall of Kabul and its aftermath. It is a powerful record of friendship, fear, and everyday life under Taliban rule. The book club have described the book as “equally heartbreaking and inspiring, full of strength and resilience.”
Lucy Hannah, Founder and Director of Untold Narratives and Co-Editor of the book, will speak about how these diaries were gathered, translated, and brought to readers around the world.
All proceeds from the event will go to Untold Narratives.
